Caro's Law of Tells #21
~
You're trying to pick the most profitable seat.
~
The player should walk around the table and take the vacant seat to the far right. Why? The player to the left of the screen has a lot of chips and they're piled in front of him, which means that he's probably playing loose poker. Remember, you want to sit to the left of loose players so, if you decide to raise, they'll already be in the pot. You certainly don't want to chase away their action by raising.
Since the other player's chips are stacked neatly, she's probably not a loose player. However, there are still quite a few chips in front of her, so you should figure that she's winning by skill and you'd just as soon see what she does before you act. Because of positional play in poker, you usually have more opportunities to win the money on your right than the money on your left. That's why, as a general rule, you should position as many chips on your right as possible.
